I agree with much of what has been said. Gimli's humor was funny in the beginning, but toward the end it was no longer funny. Like telling the same joke over and over. What bothered me the most, though, was on the rare occasion when someone would say something that wasn't true to the character. Like were Galadriel gives Merry and Pip daggers and Sam rope. (I was rather put out that he didn't get the little box containing the dirt and mallorn seed, but without the Scouring of the Shire, it wouldn't really fit anyway.

) After receiving her gift Sam replies, "Thank you my lady. Have you another of those nice, shiny daggers?" (Or something of the sort.) When I heard him say that, I was like, NO!That's not Sam! It was disrespectful and not at all the Sam we know.
