Taurthol's end.
Staggering forward, Taurthol came to Thranduil and stood by his side. Taurthol held his stomach and seemed in great distress, but he walked on. Thranduil looked on him with worry, he wondered if he was hurt.
"Yea, lord, I fear I shall not come to thine favoured halls," said Taurthol "I am mortally wounded." he lifted his hand from his body and Thranduil saw that there was a lot of blood coming forth from it. "I wished only to say farewell to thee, my king." and with that he fell to his knees and then to the floor. Two elves came to him and faced him upwards. They examined him and one turned to Thranduil and shook his head.
"Alas," cried on elf, "He was a valiant warrior. Greatly thou shalt be mist, Taurthol of Mirk wood."
He was placed upon a bed and carried back with the company. Their pace was slowed and some feared that the threat of the spiders would never really be gone.
