Besides a few murmurs, and whispers, nothing was said for quite some time. You would have thought everyone was dead. The Company sat in a circle, glaring from one face to the next, or just simply putting their head down. Nobody knew where they were at, and what was worse, nobody seemed to want to do anything about it. Finally Targon speaks again, "Lord Thranduil, you are our King, whatever decision you decide; we will follow." Thranduil acknowledges this, and seems to be please his men are still with him, at this point, but still he seems about as lost as everyone else.

A rustle in the the shrubs behind them was heard. The whole Company turned at the same moment, as if they were waiting to be attacked again. A giant spider, what looked like their leader, sprawls out of the bushes in front of everyone. Taurthol quickly cut down the greater spider, and for a second the other spiders closing in halted. But, they began to pursue again, only temporarily set back, by the death of their leader, since they were in overwhelming numbers, even a stronger force then the first attack.

Ercion shouted above the spider squawks, "To the TREETOPS! Fire our arrows down upon them."

But Targon quickly cuts in," No! It's a trap, they're COMING from the treetops!"

Thranduil in a bold, boisterous voice, "Stand together! Stand Back-to-Back! We can't afford to be split up." At Thranduil's words, Ercuion's morale rose slightly, if he was to die, he would want it to be beside his king, but he wasn't aware of what the rest of the company was feeling, he only knew, they needed some divine stroke of luck to get out of this massive onslaught.
