I find that the tongue smiley
is the cheeky one as opposed to the silly one, and should be used only when you know the person you are directing it towards.
And
definitely looks sad as opposed to, uh,
frowny?
There are only 2 smileys I've never used, those being the 2 red ones. I am never angry or embarassed when on the Downs!
