For what it's worth, I think that the plan suggested by (I believe it was)
Aman, makes the most sense: send in an advance wave of orcs to distract the Elves with fierce combat while the rest of the orcs take their time to encircle the Envoy and press in, in a more orderly manner.
(This strategy has the added advantage that it will give Ambarturion the chance to wipe out a lot of orcs before he is taken. . .
