This doesn't mean that Dwalin dies, he is only unconscious. Anyway, what I was thinking was that Durin goes down from his tree, as he sees one of the Orcs about to harm/kill (?) Dwalin (as he is about to wake up?). Durin can bring the Orc down, or something. But the point is that you get Dwalin with you and you are, as Fordim put it in his post:

Nevertheless, you will have to get us away and back to the others, as Himaran has written in his last post.
