"Speaking from experience?" Experience in Strider's case is waiting and hoping for sixty-seven *long* years for the bride's father to consent to the wedding, AND hoping that he won't get killed during those 67 years either in his solo wanderings or his final climactic bid for the throne. Not many people have that kind of experience nowadays.But back to the topic.The combination of Gandalf and Shadowfax knocking palantir-less Denethor into the fire didn't do much for me, nor Denethor's skydiving.
