What I liked about the PJ LOTR movie interpretation? First is my list of what I thought well exceeded my expectations:

Boromir

Bilbo Baggins

Éoywn

The Ring

Sarumann

Grima Wormtongue

Gollum

Henneth Annûn

Now for what I think he did that was pretty much what I expected:

Shire

Gandalf

Master Samwise

The Black Riders

Minas Morgul

Bree in general, Prancing Pony in particular

Aragorn

Gimli

Mina s Tirith

Moria

Orcs

Balrog
< LI>Isengard

Celeborn (Extended edition)

Argonath

The Black Gate

Ithilien

Edoras

Helms Deep

Uruk Hai (though they were tooorganized)

Éomer

Théodred

O sgiliath

Pippen

Merry

The Eye (Sauron)

Easterlings

What was good in looks but didn't work in actions:

Theoden (Acting & most of the characterization was good, but the exorcism scene was totally all wrong!)

Faramir (Again, the acting was good, but the characterization was all wrong.)

Rivendell (too gazebo'y)

Lothlorien (Too dark)

Southrons (Too much like the Easterlings. Should have made them dark but surely there would have been cries of racism if PJ did.)

Nazgul (The winged creatures looked great because they rightfully didn't have beaks, but their movements were well out of sync and appeared too CGI ish)

Frodo (The part was well written in screenplay, but sorry, Elijah is not my idea of Frodo Baggins.)

Legolas (Orlando did the part ok, with a few unfeeling lines, but he should of had dark hair.)

Cave Troll (Good, but I couldn't get over those stupid eyes.)

Dead Marshes (It was good, but I always pictured it as swamp gas lights which are more of a bluish flame/)

And the things that didn't do it at all for me:

Arwen (Where do I start?)

Dimrill Gate (Sorry, but it looked like a nuclear wasteland to me, and there was no Mirrormere pool!)

Elrond (Welcome to Rivendell Mr Anderson)

Wargs (Oversized hyenas? Dingos on steroids?)

Galadriel (Cate doesn't look the part, & the nuclear scene didn't cut it.)

The collapsing stair if Moria (If there was a scene done badly in the movies, it was this one. A man and a Hobbit shifting their weight making several tons of stone tip back against gravity, and it gets even better! The tons of stone stair starts to fall toward the rest of the fellowship, who stand there as if their piece of stair is strong enough to withstand the impact of the part slamming into it.)

Well, there you have it.. its what I like and not. Overall, the three movies are done well, and though I would change a few things, its not my interpretation, its PJs.
