The Ringwraiths were awesome; they were much scarier than I imagined them to be. Their shrieks were really quite blood-curdling, and their forms very imposing on the screen. I also appreciated the metal-like garb they had on - pretty much like John Howe's artwork interpretation.<P>Somebody mentioned actors - I must say that the choices for actors were good. Sir Ian and Elijah wood had really expressive faces.<P>Also, the detail was awesome. I never knew about the nitty-gritties put into Khazad-dum (arianrod's post, above) - of course, certainly only a director who loved LOTR will go through all that trouble.<P>Meneltarmacil: The PJ-with-a-carrot-scene is just as the Hobbits enter the gates. He appears from the side (though I don't remember whether from the left or right). It's just a split second, but you can't miss him because he's the only chubby bearded guy eating a carrot.
