I would call that a sketchy alliance at best. The elves were certainly far away from the actual battlefield. Anywho, your answer brings up another interesting thing, it has become necessary on occasion for you, me, and others to dig something up from outside the LotR that most readers can't recall or never read, just to defend something that is a mistake or change in the film.<P>Do you see the irony there?
