Of course the book is better than the movie, but the movie could have turned out so horribly that I think what we got is great. There are so many things that PJ could have done wrong that I, personally, am very grateful for the way the movie turned out. After all, I may never have read <I>The Lord of the Rings</I> in the first place if the movie had not impressed me so much.
