Yes, I noticed that as well. If you think about it, it better that they left it out. Gimli says to Aragorn "We should go back." And then Haldir tells them they cannot go back. In the EV, Aragorn has to persuade Haldir to let them enter Lorien. It would have been very contradicting to leave that part in, though I do miss it.
