The books were around for, what, nearly 45 years before PJ probably even thought of making the movies. Aye, I believe the best of them (like the Downs here) will stick around after the films have left the cinemas....And so will I! <P>The movie is creating a whole new batch of Tolkien fans, young and old, and after reading the books, you can pretty much guarantee that they will remain life-long fans. There is so much stuff to soak up even after you've read all the books: if you're after more there's the history and background and langauges, etc to keep you going for a while. And of course re-reading all the books again!<P>Do you think Tolkien will become/is becoming even more popular around the globe...??<p>[ April 30, 2002: Message edited by: Enedhil ]
