That's a good idea, though it would definitely have to be in RotK. We meet Faramir in TTT, so maybe the flashbacks (if any?) will be then. In Henneth Annûn maybe? Flashbacks would introduce Denethor earlier also. Unfortunately I don't remember seeing Minas Tirith as extra scenes added to FotR in the long edition DVD - so we won't see Denethor in FotR nor will we learn of his dislike of Gandalf until RotK. That FotR Minas Tirith scene was too short. Not even a shot of the White Tree banner up in the White Tower.
