Gollum never forgives Frodo for betraying him at the Forbidden Pool, and he uses it as an excuse to betray them to Shelob. Though if that hadn't happened he would have come up with another excuse.<P>And yes, Gollum was remarkable. Having a real actor behind the CGI makes all the difference.
