My friends and I were the ONLY people in the theatre who stayed for the credits. Everyone else left IMMEDIATELY and quietly. I was shocked. I don't know if that meant they didn't like the film or what.
I always try to stay for the credits of any movie. I read as much as I can. I think everyone involved in film-making deserves to be recognized and I find it rude to leave before the credits end.
I was amazed by the sheer number of people who worked on this film. And they were obviously very dedicated to making a wonderful film that not only crystalized Tolkien's book, but is a superior motion picture in its own right.
Peter Jackson's dedication to his parents was touching. And I was surprised to learn that there is a job called wrangler/makeup which I assume is the person who applied the makeup to the horses.
