I just tried to wade through the Rant and the four gazillion pages of "Are you trying to write serious fantasy?" I have never read so much well meant literary snobbery in all my life, mixed in alongside a huge amount of hypocracy with good intentions. Right down the same alley as this thread: critisizing authors for emulating the pinnacle of their art form (JRRT) and then in the next breath complaining because fantasy movies aren't winning Oscars. *sigh* Sorry Estelyn.
