Hello all,

We are in the process of sending out invitations to those whom we've asked to play. As the invitations are sent out, and the returns trickle back, we'll be asking the Shire posters to do very brief profiles on the characters they've been assigned. Since many of the characters are directly based on Tolkien's writings, or on the earlier Star RPG, these profiles will naturally be shorter than the normal ones.

It would be helpful if the older posters from the Star could include something about your own characters as background information. (I have something on Pio and Mith already which I need to paste in.)

These sketches can be lengthy ones you've prepared from long ago. (I know a few of us have those stashed away.) Or it can simply be a few sentences hammered out as background for this RPG.

Think of things that might come up in the sequel which could confuse someone who'd never read our original story. A good example of that might be the word "Snowhobbits." I understand we may have one or two tagging along.

Helen--Bring along as many of the Snowhobbits as you like, since the Bill Ferny subplot will definitely have an angle involving children.

Also, some of you may get a private message from one or more of the Shire posters. We are suggesting to them that they go ahead and contact the person whom their own characters are likely to interact with. For example, whoever plays Sam is probably going to need to talk to Frodo (Helen) to discuss what direction you may want to go in the story. Similarly, Rose Goodchild needs to speak with Lindo.

Helen,

Why do I get the feeling that you're going to be very busy?

sharon
