"Oh, that's fine," Maeralagos replied softly, lowering his head bashfully at Telpeheled's apology about his jokes. It was preferable to have someone light of heart around.
He looked straight back at Telpeheled as he continued to speak, telling him about the maiden, explaining his strange speech and actions.
"I am grateful, you know. Thank you," he finished, looking dolefully back at Maeralagos. This time, it was no joke.
"I could not have made myself act any differently," Maeralagos replied.
"Though I suggest we relocate for the time being so as to avoid any unwelcome guests," Maeralagos heard a voice behind him, one of the Elves speaking to Bordarigorn. He stood up, helping Telpeheled to his feet as well, turning to watch the conversation. He agreed that they needed to move on, at least away from here. It was about the unsafest place they could be, save perhaps in the midst of a pack of swarming orcs.
