Erdaminéon stood alone, deep in thought. As the others began to depart, Mercildir approached, almost nervously and asked quietly,
“"You can see things, can't you? You can see into the mind and heart, unless I am mistaken. Can you answer a question?"
The Elf waited patiently for an answer, and Erdaminéon watched him for a second, before looking away. The question remained unanswered, as Bordarigorn arrived and lead them to the gate, and away to the west. Then Erdaminéon took the opportunity to turn back to Mercildir. The younger Elf was looking back towards the woods, wistfully. He began to consider the question properly for the first time since it was asked. Could he see things? Well, he had certainly been thought of as a “seer” for much of his life.
“My friend, I can see, and I can understand to a certain extent.” Another dry smile played about his lips. “And, if I can, I will answer a question.” He tilted his head back, watching the sky, before looking suddenly to where Dunelin pointed. “I can tell you this. That army may not be good news for our friends back in Lothlorién.” He sighed, and looked gravely at the ground. “It is however, no threat to us, and we have only ourselves and Anuion to think of at present.”
He walked beside Melcildir, awaiting the question he wished to ask.
