Quote:
Raising her glass high to him, her face alight with grace and dignity, she spoke these words, ‘To the Axes of the Dwarves, Master Dwarf! Baruk Khazâd!’
"Aye, and to the success of the journey to Erebor. May our feet be given speed!" Then they drank. The fiery dwarvish spirit revieved Bali, for he had tasted nought like it since he had left his homeland.

"I must now leave you to your rest, fair lady, and finish preparations for the journey." They bid each other goodnight and a fairwell, as Bali was leaving early next morning.

"You couldn't even kill him." Hogar's face was filled with disdain.

"I suppose you did better, my fat dwarven friend." "Aye. I got my man."

Kaldon looked over at the bar, where Bali had disappeared into. "Things will work out anyway. We'll have plenty of chances to finish the job on the way. But you watch yourself. He's gotten a full brigade of expert warriors coming with him, and that one elf doesn't trust us. Tread carefully around that one. Now, when Bali walks out, ask him if you can go along. You know, be a distant relation or something."

Hogar spat on the floor. "I don't need your dumb advice. I know what to do." Leaving his drink on the table, he stood and disappeared.

Kaldon sat back slowly, sipping a fresh ale. Hogar was starting to really get to him.

Kaldon watched from his table as Bali came back into the commons room from behind the bar. He spoke to his companion in a low voice. When this job is done, you will be next on my list, dwarf.
