Tallin swallowed the lump in her throat. The way they had gone off together, the look of companionship she hadnt seen before in Raye's eyes...but why did it have to be towards Berethion? The likeable elf was practically the only one who didnt treat her like an outcast. Like the ragged wood urchin that she was, she thought bitterly.

"Oh come on Tal, youre getting me depressed as well now." Dia practically rolled her eyes as she finished with a bone she had been gnawing. An animal was looking down on her...Tallin clenched her fists and didnt answer her friend, blocking her thoughts. If only she could block the lump in her throat as well.

She had Called a horse last night, summoning it by its True Name, Ohtar. Warrior. The magnificent stallion was as black as night all over and she swung herself onto its bare back. She had no need for a saddle. Ohtar shuffled slightly, feeling Tallins unease; he was an intelligent beast, one of the reasons Tallin had chosen him to summon.

"Calm Ohtar. Just emotions just elven emotions." She soothed him.

"Quite powerful emotions Tallin." Tallins eyes caught those of Jet, watching her. He tipped his head to the side slightly. "Wolves are not emotionless, sister, you know it. We feel less, but because of this you feel more. More than other petty humans and elves."

Tallin held his understanding gaze for a moment before looking away, not because she couldnt hold his gaze, but because she doubted a wolf could understand what she was feeling. "Like I said Jet, just emotions. Just petty elven emotions." She replied, trying to keep the bitterness from her voice.

Berethion knew her better than she had ever let anyone know her before. They had been close. Yet...yet he had gone to the murderess instead. As she started off with the rest of the group following, the wolves trotted beside her. Her strength was in them. Their lives seemed so much less complicated...

"Just petty elven emotions." She murmered bitterly to herself as she urged her horse into a trot. Hwesta's horse was just behind but she didnt care if the elf maid heard. Just as she know knew that that same elfs brother didnt care either...
