ElentariGreenleaf has just left Hobbiton.
Sting

Arrows flew from the ledge. Soronûmë and Khôrbar fired arrows as quickly as they could. Elentari made a diamond protection around her, and doubled even tripled the amount of arrows. It rapidly drained her energy, and Hreeza could see this.

"No," said the Sprite as loudly as she could without showing Shelob the others' positions. "Stop Elentari. Don't drain your energies." Elentari ignored her.

Shelob was completely confused by the hail of arrows and her legs flailed wildly. At one point she was very close to hitting Bragolhirwen. Elentari saw this, and at the same time Soronûmë and Khôrbar ran out of arrows.

"NOW!" shouted Hreeza. The first line of brave fighters ran forward to attack. Lorin was in the second line and nervously held her knife. Hreeza looked around at the scene. The attack was going well, but there was one person missing. Elentari had said she would fight in the second line, but she was not there.

"Elentari," shouted Hreeza. "Where are you?" She could see the diamond protection flaring near the foot of the ledge. "Elentari!" The elf-witch had collapsed from over-using her magic. Hreeza was about to float to her friend as she heard a scream of exhaustion come from the other direction. Someone had been hit.

Bragolhirwen was in the front line. She had started to become tired. Where was Hreeza's command to pull back? Without warning, Shelob swung round and hit Bragolhirwen to the floor. The half-elf let out a cry, alerting Hreeza and the others to her pain.

"First line retreat, second line attack. Someone get Bragolhirwen out of there!" shouted Hreeza.

Elentari heard this, and stood up. There was new rage burning in her eyes. With a scream of anger she leapt forward, chanting a new spell: she was calling her staff. A bright light appeared before Elentari and a tall pale grey staff appeared. The elf-witch took a firm hold on this and swung it in a large circle as she ran in front of those attacking Shelob. Bright blue light came from both Elentari and the staff, causing even Shelob to back off a little.

"Elentari. STOP!" shouted a number of her companions. But it was too late, Elentari was too far into this now. There was no stopping her.
