The company followed the sprite down in the dark. Soronūmė was deep in thought, he had been listening intently to Hreeza's plan. He looked over to the sorrowful Lorin then stopped in the darkness. The rest of the company came to a halt and Hreeza brushed past the elf's cheek. Khorbar stepped forward, "What are you doing?! You know we must fight now!" He was speaking impatiently but with a respect that Soronūmė understood. "Hreeza?" Soronūmė looked up to her, "your plan, how is Lorin expected to fire arrows from a bow? Had you forgotten our pains of late?" Hreeza fell still and silent as she looked over to the fair maiden with her bound, wounded arm.
"If I were to take her place" Soronūmė continued, "for am I far more skilled with a bow than with the small sword I carry" he stepped forward enthusiastically. "No" stated the sprite defiantly, "indeed you are skilled with your bow Soronūmė but your grief is near. We cannot let it cloud judgement, not in this hour." The elf was shocked at the statement, "My grief has rightful place in my heart, and in yours. It was not only I that lost a friend today and if that grief is to cloud my mind then it will do the same to you!" Elentari and Lorin agreed with him. Lorin spoke softly, "Hreeza, I cannot use a bow, let someone else take my place. Eruwen died in this battle and we all suffered at the hands of this beast. If we are to defeat Shelob we will need to work and trust eachother."
"Very well Soronūmė, you will take place of Lorin. You fire down onto Shelob but then wait for my command. Lorin if you can you must now fight with Khorbar and Zohariel on the ground. Elentari, are you sure you are up to this?" She looked onto the elf witch. "I am ready" she replied.
The company all turned as they heard the groans coming from the darkness. Silently now they crept on.
