As they reached the top of the stairs, Khôrbar turned and waited for the others to catch up. He gave a small sigh at the ones lagging so far behind. When they all caught up, he addressed the group.
"I will aid you, as you seem to be in need of another companion," Khôrbar said, "But, there is one thing you must do for me."
The group remained silent as Khôrbar paused. He looked around at the grim, silent faces. The group had been through a lot, he could see. they had probably lived through a lot more than he could now imagine. Khôrbar gathered his thoughts and continued.
"I, however, will proceed on only one condition," Khôrbar said. The other remained silent, listening for his demand. He finally continued, after a fairly dramatic pause, "You have to tell me what you are doing here. It came to my mind that I do not know your plan or what you hope to accomplish by traversing foolishly through dangerous lands to an even more perilous place, such as Cirith Ungol. I refuse to guide you any further if you do not enlighten me as to the details of this quest."
Khôrbar stood steadfast, hoping that someone would tell him what they were doing here, and that they would not just leave him to his fate here, in what was probably one of the most dangerous areas they had been to as of yet.
There was a silence before someone stepped forward from the group...
