I admit I copied most of this out of Sabriel but no other book explains Necromancing so well!
Zohariel dragged herself to her feet, the wound on her cheek still bleeding thickly. Still desperatly trying to stay upright she fumbled with her bell belt. She thought for a second, then pulled out the smallest bell, and swung it once. It sounded a sweet, low sound, and all the fighters rubbed their eyes, getting drowsy. She swung again and many fell asleep.
"Ranna" she said out loud. Ranna, the sleepbringer. Now she faced Morluien and her mother- ghost- thing.
She replaced Ranna and drew Saraneth, the deepest bell that would shakle the Dead to the ringer's will.
"Saraneth" Zohariel choked out over a gurgle of blood that dripped over her mouth. She swung it, hoping it would let her bend the Mother to her will. Unfortunatly, it did not work. Frantically, she swung it again. Realising it would not work she replaced it and drew Kibeth. This was only used in an emergency, a difficult bell to wield. She made sure she had the holdings correct then swung it in such a way that should get Mother through the last gate and back to wherever she came from, be it death or life.
