I've never thought of the Ring as having its own thoughts. It was a tool of Sauron. When I say "the Ring did such and such" I mean that Sauron through the Ring did it. But that's only my opinion.

E- You could always go punk, and pull all the hair out from one side of your head but not the other... :P
