Tinuiel and Rűdhchamion halted and exchanged looks. The wild elf girl stopped and glared at them, but she was distracted by a force of guards that appeared behind her. She wheeled round, and, brandishing her spear, she screamed, "Come and get me you foul and bad excuses for guards!"
Tinuiel had only an instant to act. With lightning speed she drew her dagger, and less than a second later it was pressed against the escaped prisoner's throat. "I have no wish to harm you," Tinuiel whispered in the elf's ear. "But I cannot allow you to harm any of my kin. Drop your weapon, and I will see to it that you are treated with justice."
