Technically, diseases can spread quickly throughout an enclosed space. It's like how people say, "there's a bug going around." Since the Elves of the caves (the Ti'Lavan, by the way) are in such close quarters, any communicable diseases can be easily spread throughout the cave. I think...but I'm no doctor. Also, the book isn't
just a medical-type book, it also holds the customs and the histories of the Ti'Lavan. So it's not just that they can give away the book because they have memorized the contents of the medical items within it, but they also have to consider that the history of their kind are stored in the book.
So, can you edit a little bit, Helka?
