Bird hooked her nose over the edge of the skiff, tilting it dangerously to one side. 'Sorry! but I don't have any fingers, and those orc knots look too tricky for a flipper.'
'Bird, get off the boat! You're going to drown them!' Pio climbed into the skiff and worked the knots loose. The two hobbits sat up spluttering indignantly. Child stood up to lecture Pio and Bird on the inappropriateness of their silly behavior, just as Rose shifted her weight to the same side of the little boat.
Over it went, and down sank the two hobbits. Pio hauled up Rose by her cloak, and Bird dove under Child and nudged her to the surface.
Rose and Child clung to the side of the upturned boat while Bird and Pio nudged and dragged it in the direction of Tuor's ship and the the rest of the fleet.
'Whatever happened to Angara?', asked Pio. 'I remember tripping over her on the elven ship.
