The merman was bringing them closer to the shadow. But what would they do? Rose didn't even know what it was. Her last words to Child as she lept off the boat had been "I'm gonna help Mith." If she went back as a failure then she would never be trusted for large tasks again. Or worse, if she didn't return at all...........but she wouldn't think of that.

Somwhere just into her feild of view she saw somone swiming toward her. "Pio!" Rose cried out. Her shout signaled the ominous shadow and it started towards her.

Oh no. She tried to swim away. But unfortunatly doggy paddles don't get you very far very fast.
