Beleth sipped on her drink. She was unaccustomed to cocktails and the like, but it was bearable. She felt almost like some peasant looking around the hall and seeing all of the finely dressed and intelligent-looking people. There were some amonst the crowd who she'd heard about, and would've liked to get a better look at, perhaps even a little word. But first, turning to the entranceway, she saw a familiar figure.
Glad that there was finally someone present who she was able to recognize and actually talk to, she picked her way among the crowd and over to Guo Si.
"Hi there, Guo. I see you've made it to the big party...quite grand, is it not?"
"Oh, indeed, it is," he replied, with the phony elvish accent that he'd taken to putting on when he knew people of importance were around. Beleth rolled her eyes.
"Everyone can tell that accent's faker-looking than my red hair, Guo. Why do you bother?" she mused aloud.
