Well, not if they're interested. I believe there are some people who read The Blue Mountains RPG before joining The Threat of the Trees. Also, if newcomers for the SoU sequel might understand the relationships of our characters if they read the SoU. But still, you're right. Reading the entire RPG shouldn't be required, though it is recommended.
