One Good Book Deserves Another
We've had LotR meets the movies, commercials, and cartoons...what about LotR meets other books?
To make it easy, stick to famous passages from classic works of literature, so that even if people haven't read the book they'll have a chance to know what's going on.
Here's one from "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen:
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single hobbit in possession of a large burden, must be in want of a wight. However little known the feelings or views of such a hobbit may be on his first entering the barrow downs, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding wights, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of them...to slaughter.
