I have discovered that the best way to annoy people about the LOTR trilogy is to quote lines, talk about the books and movies incessently, and to do various other Tolkien realated things. Examples, you say? So be it...

In English one day, my teacher was trying to give an example of passive voice writing. The example she used was "Frodo was given gifts to aid him on his journey." She asked me who gave the gifts (expecting me to spout off an answer such as "You can't tell from the sentence.") and so I answered with. "Galadriel. And Bilbo, Bombadil, Butterbur, Elrond, and Faramir. Did I miss any?" thus causing a large debate about how Bombadil's gifts technically didn't aid them with the quest, since the quest didn't begin until after they left him. That ticked off my entire class, with the exception of 3 people, who like me, were debating the relevance of singing as a gift.

For another, whenever I don't want people to read something I'm writing, I write it in Runes. This truly annoys teachers that confiscate the notes and the people who try to read over my shoulder.

Instead of using the nicknames or common names, such as Strider, Sam, and Gandalf, I almost always use Estelyn Telcontar, Samwise, and Mithradir.

When the girls in my school start talking about "that hot elf guy" (Legolas), I always enter the conversation with "No way- I could list actors much hotter." And then I start to list them.

When people start an IM with a question, I answer with "yessss, my preciousssss?"

When people talk about how cool Arwen was in the movies, I ask if she asked permission to ride Glorfindel's horse.

I have shots from the movies in my locker, as well as my much-worn copy of FOTR.

My all-purpose notebook has slightly changed song lyrics from LOTR, including a rendition of In Dreams.

I sing "Where There's a Whip, There's a Way" from the cartoon version of Return of the King, and I quote Pippen saying: "Gandalf, come quick. Denathor's gone plum loony!"

I hope that's enough, since I'm off to make myself lunch.
