The Fionavar Gobeline (by Guy Gavriel kay):
Lisen (most beautiful of all, falls in love with mortal man, sacrifice her life for him) = Lúthien
Dark dangerous forest, which I can't remember the name of = Mirkwood
Dark lord captured in a mountain = Sauron
Middle-earth = Fionavar (the maps look alike)
Erú = The Weaver
History of ME = History of Fionavar
Elves going west when they leave Middle-earth/Fionavar = well, you choose which of them...
Sorry I can't remember the names, I find it annoying too.
VanimaEdhel, I know who you are talking about, allthough I'm not so sure he was named Dernik - did you check the books?
The Sword of Shannara (by Terry brooks):
Flick = Sam
Shea = Frodo
Allanon = Gandalf
etc. etc. with the characters
Shire = Valley of Shadows (is that the correct name? I've only read the Danish translation, so I have to guess on the "real" names)
Mordor = Kingdom of Skulls (? again )
Moria = those dark halls of kings or something, they have to pass to go to Paranor
Paranor = Isengard?
Hope it's okay I did two in the same post
And if you know the names of all the things I mentioned with a wrong name, please let me know
