Yavanna228 has just left Hobbiton.
Tolkien

I was just thinking that if we have a 'slow season' just because we are in the lull between movies or we have all read the 'elementary' Tolkien works, what would we do if there were no movies or such to talk about? No newbies (of whom I am one) to correct, no easy answers. I believe we should go back and start with loving Tolkien for Tolkien, read his 'common' works and find the many layers and hidden depths, find and devour the more rarely read books, just indulge ourselves in the way we did before movies, before fora. I think that this foundation of enjoying Tolkien will more than make up for any 'slow season' and allow us to be fans with more depth, with the abilities to rise to new heights afforded us by this wonderful author. Just take the time to soak in what you're reading, don't race to read things just because you need answers. Kudos to anyone who has done this already! Anyways, that's just my opinion.
