Name (that you go by): Rebecca, but it gradually gets shortened every time it is used, so it's 'Becca, then Beck, then finally just B ... I don't know. People are weird.

Age: 18
Occupation: college student @ SFA
Future Aspirations: To get a B in Com 101. Past that I haven't really thought about it. Well, I have, but...

Goal in life: Really? To become stronger in my Christianity. It's already grown by leaps and bounds since coming to college, and it seems the farther I come, the more I see that I have so much yet to learn. I also want to get married and have children someday ... I would be happy just being June Cleaver, even though that sounds so anti-women's rights. I could see myself baking cookies.

Short term goals: To get a B in Com 101. To actually do some schoolwork instead of just crap around on the computer.

Passion: music, writing, my Lord

Hobbies: writing, guitar, rock-climbing, making a fool of myself in front of boys, scribbling in my journal, listening to music, swooning over musicians, and making sand castles

Famous for (okay this is where you get to brag about yourself): I've always been the teacher's pet. I'm also the person you talk to when you are having problems.

Fave book: LOTR and assorted Tolkien crap (hehe), "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis (that book brought me back) and several of his other essays, "The Chronicles of Narnia" by CS Lewis (I read them for the first time a couple months ago... I missed out on a lot of stuff when I was a child)

Fave movie: Ferris Buller's Day Off, if I'm made to choose

Fave sport: hang-gliding

Fave store: Pac Sun. I'm a fiend for their sale racks

Fave music: if you can perform it live and do a good job, I like it. I've become a Bono fanatic, though. And I grew up on old rock and folk music from the 60s and 70s

What you can't stand: hypocrites. Self-serving individuals. Gossips ("small minds discuss people,") and people who leer. People who are mean to retail personell. ppl who dont even tri to spel or use puncuaton and arrogance in all its many forms. People who SNORE

What you plain dislike: hypocrites.

Who you admire: people who have a stronger faith than I do (which are a lot of people). My mother and father.

What you most love to do: write. And even though it sounds trite, witness. I really love my faith, and I love telling people about it.

Your self-confessed flaws: I'm hypocritical, doubtful, impatient, and very obvious about what I'm feeling at the time. I also have a lot of fear within me, but not as much as I used to have

What intrigues/fascinates you: nature and the interaction between her and her Creator. There is so much beauty in this world, so much perfection in even the smallest of things, that I can't find a reason to disprove the existance of a Maker

What scares you: that something may happen to the people that I love. I'm not afraid to die, but I'm afraid of hurting them by my passing; my family means everything to me.

Quotation to live by: "fear is not of God." -M.M. (but I'm sure she got it from the Bible somewhere) "It is not that God waits for us to be in difficulty before revealing Himself, but that we are oftentimes more receptive to his voice when in pain."

Additional comments:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God. the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isaiah 43:1-3

No one said that becoming a Christian would solve all your problems. Indeed, life became harder after I really became in-depth in my faith. But the difference is, you won't be alone like you were before. With the Father at your back, the Son at your side, and the Spirit in your heart, you can do anything. You don't have to fear anyone, you don't have to doubt (though you still do fear and doubt; it is your nature); nothing can touch you. Why are you so angry? Why do you refuse? Why do you close your eyes to the Light?
