LOTR Sets

What do you think of the sets created for the LOTR movies? Choose your favorite place and place it on a rating of 1-10. 1 being awesome and 10 being horrible.

Minas Tirith- 1
Edoras- 1
Fangorn- 3/4 - it looked rather fake. Not the best set.

I believe there is already a similar thread... not sure where it is.

And since you started that one too Kiah, I think that you really ought to delete this thread and continue posting there.

Shire- 8
Rivendell- 7.5
Edoras- 8
Those were probably my favorite sets. I really like Shire though. Very beautiful.

Edoras was great. They had to go all over NZ to find the right place, and they found a hill that looked almost exactly like the one in the book. They even built all the buildings (including the Golden Hall) by hand instead of filming the hill and computer generating them later. In my opinon, that was a very good result of a LOT of hard work.

Yes, regarding Edoras we owe a great deal to the crew. They spent three months over winter out on that hill constructing the framework of all those buildings so they could film in spring
*round of applause*
