Extended DVD Edition easter eggs
After seeing all (or close to all) of the special features, I checked the Internet to see if there were any easter eggs. Sure enough there were. I checked them out and they are so cool. Here they are:
Disc One
To access the MTV Movie Awards spoof of The Council of Elrond scene with Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar (3 min, 4x3, DD 2.0), go to the last page of the scene selections menu area and highlight 'The Council of Elrond'. Then navigate "down" to reveal a hidden Ring symbol. Press "Enter".
Hilarious!! Check this one out. In my opinion, this is the funniest spoof of LOTR ever. Sure, it is gross, but you can't help but laugh. Borimir: "It is a gift."
Disc Two
To access The Two Towers sneak peek trailer that was shown briefly in theaters at the end of The Fellowship of the Ring (4 min, 16x9, DD 5.1), go to the last page of the scene selections menu area and highlight the number "48" on the far right-hand side of the screen. Then navigate "down" to reveal a hidden Two Towers symbol. Press "Enter".
I told my friends that there was a look at TTT at the end of the movie, but they didn't care. For those of you who missed it, this is it.
Post back and tell what you think of the easter eggs.

Yes, I heard about them a while ago. I also mentioned it in the "Extended DVD" thread.
I was kinda hoping for outtakes... oh well (since I already have the MTV thing on tape)
|
Thanks for the easter eggs! So, you want me to tell you what I thought?
Well...that MTV Council of Elrond...well..Let's just say I don't think Tolkien would have drempt that one up.
I really liked TTT trailor cause I never got to see it in theaters and it really is spectacular!
|
As I watched the MTV Movie Awards as it happened, I know all about what you are talking about! And: you know that has totally ruined the Council scene? I keep waiting for a big guy to get up and show what he "did" with the ring...and it never comes...so I spend the whole time chortling to myself with mental images!
Jack Black, I would like to say, is the best. I love him. He's great...
And: thank you: I'll check those out next time I see the DVD!
|
does this only work on tvs or computers as well?
|
It also works on computers.
|
OMG!!!! I just saw the MTV blooper. All I have to say, is I have never seen anything so disgusting, so vial, so horribly humiliating to the best story ever in my life!! I'm sorry, but I did not find it funny at all. They have ruined that scene completely.
But on a happier note, the TTT trailer was so cool! I loved it!!
|
Thanks for these cool little goodies. I'm going to go try them now!
|

quote:
It also works on computers.

It does?! I cant find it using my computer DVD. How did you find it on yours?
|
Wow, the Two Towers trailer is fab! Thanks for that.
Does anyone know if the other scene exists on the British version of the discs? I cannot find it anywhere, it just doesn't seem to work
|
I seem to have the opposite problem! The MTV 'Elrond Council' scene worked fine, but the trailer? Nope...
|
Ooops! Found the trailer
|
Somebody please help me. I'm a complete ditz when it comes to DVD's. Could somebody give me a step by step process to get to the trailer with a PS2 remote instead of a real one? Anybody?
|
Just posting to get this at the top of the page so someone can help me with my idiodic problem.

*Is as talented as a slug when it comes to electronic devices, but will help you*
Okay, when you play the DVD, it opens up to the page with the book, right? Scroll down (the down arrow) to the 3rd item down that said "Scene Selections" and click "Enter".
Then, keep pressing the down arrow through all the scenes until 27. Then, press down 1 more time, and you will see a ring highlighted. Click "Enter" to see it.
It is basically the same with the trailer.

quote:
OMG!!!! I just saw the MTV blooper. Well, you probably should not, because that is his humor all the way ("Saving Silverman" is possibly the best comedy ever...next to "Fatal Intention"...a spoof on "Fatal Attraction" and other movies). *Continues to roll around laughing hysterically* I watched the scene again today...*giggles some more* I love that man so much...

I have a question... whats easter eggs???
|
(someone correct me if I'm wrong) but I think they're just extras that you have to look around for in a DVD. I'm under the impression that they're really hard to find...
|
Here's a website to submit/read more of these!Index of Easter Eggs
