Where ROTK follows the Book
Sorry if you have already seen this (so you can close the topic if needed), but I thought this might be interesting... From the The One Ring.net spy reports. <P><B>'Destined to be even more incident-packed than The Two Towers, The Return of the King will see Frodo and Sam battle the giant CGI spider Shelob and Aragorn travel the Paths of the Dead in an attempt to forge an army capable of vanquishing Sauron's hordes. And as Andy Serkis reveals, the third film will provide audiences with a chance to see how Smeagol became Gollum.</B><p>[ April 07, 2003: Message edited by: Arwen Evenstar the Fair ]

wow, cool! i havent seen anything on Rotk yet! Thanks for sharing!
Glad to be of service!

I had not heard anything about the paths of the dead. I am really hoping that it will be part of ROTK, I can't wait for that movie.
I thought the Two Towers Special Edition DVD would contain the story of Smeagol becoming Gollum. Otherwise thanx for the spoiler.
Nothing of Faramir. *brow furrows* Ah well. At least I have Shelob to look forward to. That oughta be great when I see it with my aracnophobic sister.

"And as Andy Serkis reveals, the third film will provide audiences with a chance to see how Smeagol became Gollum."<P>I found this interesting pic of Smeagol and Deagol. Is the Smeagol in this pic also Andy Serkis? Anyways thought I would share it. (Hopefully it works)<P>

Yep, thats Andy Serkis. Anyone know who plays Deagol?
No, I'm sure who plays him, I guess we will find out! It will be interesting to see though!
Does anyone know if Frodo's finger still gets bitten off? I sure hope so, because then I can be the only one in the theatre laughing.
I hope its in! I wanna laugh too

<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:<HR> And as Andy Serkis reveals, the third film will provide audiences with a chance to see how Smeagol became Gollum. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE><P>Aw, shucks! And I thought that it was going to be put into the TTT extended DVD, as a flashback when Frodo first calls Gollum by the name Smeagol in the Dead Marshes. <P>Edit: Mind you, having said that, the Smeagol/Deagol photos are in a TTT picture-book that I picked up and read in Tescos, so perhaps there's hope yet. <p>[ April 11, 2003: Message edited by: The Saucepan Man ]
