Eowyn - who has seen the picture?
Someone posted a picture of Eowyn with bloodied hands while gripping a sword. I have looked and looked but can't find the picture!
The poster had wanted to know where that picture came from and I finally found out!
If you have seen the picture I am talking about and were wondering what it was about...I think it will be in the extended version of the TTT. Eowyn hides behind a wall as an orc approaches and I think she slays him. That would explain the blood. If you have the original LOTR and look on the second disc....watch the TTT review part and you'll see the clip I'm talking about.
If anyone knows where that picture is and wants to post it that'd be great!

but why isn't her sword bloody? And why is the blood red?
|
You can't really see the whole sword. Maybe it's a long sword and the blood is on the tip.
|
Yay! *lol* now I can look at it better...it's definatly the picture from that scene in "making of the two towers." I'm not too sure why the blood is red...I really don't know when she would have attacked an orc y'know? She really was never around them unless they encountered them on the way to Helms Deep or something...
I guess we'll all find out when the extended version comes out (ugh...November...)
|
Possibly because she kills the orc a couple of frames later. Look at her expression: she's waiting for her moment to attack something off-camera.
As for the stains on her hands, you don't have to kill someone to end up wearing blood. It could be from a wounded comrade or a freak nail-varnishing accident, but I think she's cut her knuckles on something. However it got there, there's plenty of blood to go around in a big battle: I'd be surprised if her hands were clean even before the first kill of the day. |
Aha! That's it, young Eowyn sister-daughter was bravely caring for the battle wounded when suddenly, though not unexpectedly, the ominous sound of Uruks breaching the caves reaches her ear. In the space of but one breath (and three accelerated heart beats) Eowyn the Fair successfully liberates a sword from the sheath of a fallen soldier, swiftly and deftly leaping for the cover of a stalagmite.
Unfortunately, here we must leave our heroine, frozen in time, awaiting the enemy, until her undoubtedly heroic confrontation in the TTT extended cut....Let us all pray to Eru that Eowyn the Cold find the necessary strength for holding at bay the foul breath and sinful minds of the enemy until November... Godspeed brave shield-maiden!
[ February 12, 2003: Message edited by: Tar-Palantir ]

Tar-Palatir.... what is the link to that image?
|
I swiped it off another thread. But if you right-click the image (or any image you like) and select 'properties' the URL will be displayed. That will give the source web page.
This one came from here - it looks like it's from a personal photo page.
[ February 12, 2003: Message edited by: Tar-Palantir ]

Well, there is no right-clicking on Macs... and the point and drag doesn't want to work with that pic for some reason.
Thanks.
|
Just click and hold on it, Tigerlily, and you'll get a drop-down menu, and just choose "Open Image in New Window". Easy!
|
thanks for the pic! i had it before but not in this size...
|
Aye, great pic, Thanks!
|
Nice pic
|
Thanks for posting that pic. I think it's cool and I can't wait till the extended version comes out and I can see it for real.
|

quote:
freak nail-varnishing accident

Squatter of Amon Rudh, you are absolutely brilliant!
I can't wait to see the extended version of TTT . . . I hope we get to see more of Eowyn/Miranda Otto. I like Eowyn the most of all the characters- I relate to her so much, and I find her very admirable (but not because I relate to her! )
|
Nice pic. I think it was definately a nail varnishing accident.
|
Just wodering: Are there any girls here who can't relate to Eowyn?
PS~ Alasse, love the sig!!
|
*I raise my hand*
No, I can't relate to Éowyn, not on any level. I like her, I think she's wonderful, and I really enjoyed Miranda Otto in the movie. But I can't make a single connection between her and me, or her life and mine.
So there you go! There's at least one girl out there who doesn't see herself as Éowyn.
It is a rather neat picture, but somehow it seems to me that letting her battle Orcs in the caves is too much too soon. The Witch King is supposed to be her cathartic moment, the big to-do when she finally gets to fight something. So I'm kind of glad that they left that scene out of the movie.

I posted that picture after scanning it etc from a Gamesworkshop battle book (TTT)
There is reference to it on the web here though.
