Prince Imrahil?

On all the cast lists I've seen, Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth appears to be unmistakably absent. Does anyone know if he’ll be making an appearance in RotK, and if not, why not? Will they simply have Faramir wake up sooner, and become steward of Gondor in Denethor’s place?
Sorry about all that, I’m just curious (and slightly angry at the idea that they would cut him out of the movies).
- Shadow

I really doubt whether Imrahil will make an appearance, which is a crying shame really. He was one of my favourite characters.
[ February 08, 2003: Message edited by: Inderjit Sanghera ]

Ah ha. I just found Imrahil on the cast list on the One Ring. net. However, the fact that the name isn't a link doesn't seem too good. All the "main" characters have links for their names. Oh please don't tell me he'll turn up, fight a battle and go home again.

Inderjit Sanghera 02-08-2003 02:06 PM

Or maybe he'll die!

Dark Shadow 02-08-2003 02:10 PM

No way. Well, I could see that happening actually. I mean after Haldir.... But then again, there are plenty of deaths in RotK anyway, it hardly needs adding to. Well, at least he's on the list. That means Dol Amroth will have to show up at some point (I was dreading another "Elves at Helms Deep" situation, where suddenly a host of elves turns up instead of the men of Dol Amroth....). Oh well. I guess we'll wait and see.

Tar-Palantir 02-08-2003 03:34 PM

Yep. Can you believe it's only 311 more days till we find out? Time is really flying by...

Lalaith 02-08-2003 04:05 PM

Dark Shadow - where was the cast list you saw? I've just looked around tORN and can't find one with Imrahil on it.
Also I am fairly sure there will be no Beregond or Bergil.

GaladrieloftheOlden 02-08-2003 04:21 PM

I don't think they'll put in Beregond or Begil in either, just more names to remember, but I really liked Imrahil. Also- a little of topic- what was the point of killing Haldir? I really liked him too! I mean, I wouldn't want them to cut it out or anything, it was the saddest part and really well done, and the arrival of the Elves was also one of my favorites, but it was kind of randomly thrown in...Maybe PJ wants to show that its not all happily ever after...dunno.

Lalaith 02-08-2003 04:27 PM

There was some rumour going around that Nick Nolte had been cast as Beregond. But I think it was just a rumour.

Arwen Evenstar the Fair 02-08-2003 05:46 PM

I really hope they put Imrahil in ROTK!!! Even if its a reduced role. He rocks!!!

Gorwingel 02-08-2003 07:06 PM

Guess I am going to have to go back and read ROTK, because I do not know who you are talking about.

Inderjit Sanghera 02-09-2003 06:49 AM

Nick Nolte as Beregond? I hope it was a joke.

Naldoriathil 02-09-2003 07:01 AM

If you go on www.tbhl.com, Beregond is actually on the cast list. This is Peter Jackson's own website, so I hope he is not lying to us! I'm afraid I saw no Prince Imrahil but I think i saw Dol Amroth mentioned, I'll go back and see

Dark Shadow 02-09-2003 08:08 AM

Hang on, I'll just find that list...
Complete Character List
There we go. He's in the second column about 3/4 names down, below Hama.

Inderjit Sanghera 02-09-2003 08:43 AM

Whats with those terrible pics, next to the names on Onering?

Dark Shadow 02-09-2003 08:50 AM

They're probably drawings of the original drawings of the characters or something..

Inderjit Sanghera 02-09-2003 08:58 AM

They're almost as bad as the cartoon version of LoTR.Did you see 'Orc-Sam' in there?

Tar-Palantir 02-09-2003 02:50 PM

Goldberry, Radagast, Halbarad, Beregond, Bergil, Glorfindel ??
I don't think that cast list is correct, DarkShadow. Some of these characters are completely written out already.
Naldoriathil - I couldn't get the link to work. Anyone else try it?
[ February 09, 2003: Message edited by: Tar-Palantir ]

doug*platypus 02-10-2003 05:37 AM

That's cool, they've updated that list since I last saw it. Just because someone's name turns up however, doesn't mean that they have a large part - or even a speaking part!
The fact that they have a link, a biography and a picture for characters like Uglúk and even the Mouth of Sauron, but have nothing of the sort for Prince Imrahil, does not bode well.
Other nervous Imrahil fans can be found on this thread.
So long as they get his costume right I'll be... kind of happy, I suppose. He was always the most glamourous character in my mind. Go the Swan Knights! Oh, no! I just realised, I know a spoiler about them. Alas!

HCIsland 02-10-2003 01:24 PM

I really think Imrahil will get the same treatment as Gil-galad. You may be able to pick him out, but no lines.
H.C.

Dark Shadow 02-10-2003 02:44 PM

Yeah. I didn't even notice Gil-Galad the first 10 or so times I watched it. I was convinced that was Elrond then I watched it again last night and just about picked him out. Well, I guess we'll just have to cross our fingers, but judging on how much they have to fit in they'll probably cut his character. I'll miss that. I was looking forward to seeing if they could find any actor perfect enough . yes, elves are supposed to be the fairest of all, but somehow Imrahil and his men always came across as better looking than any of the elves... I don't know why though...
