The Elves Join the War?
I heard, that in the movie, the elves decide to join the war. They don't do that in the book , do they? (its been awhile since I've read it...)
Did anyone hear the same???

A group of archers from Lórien march to Helm's Deep and help defend against the Uruk-hai in the movie. They didn't in the book. In fact, they were besieged and could not help Gondor or Rohan if they wanted to. Although from what I've heard, it works very well in the movie and will help viewers who haven't read the books along.

I was wondering about that, I saw pics of Elves at Orthanc and at Helms Deep

There is dissension among the elves over this. Elrond (who goes to Lorien in the movie) thinks the elves should come to the aid of men. Galadriel and Celeborn believe the elves time is over, and the alliance between men and elves is history. (I could have that reversed! my bad memory!) Anyway, Haldir and some others end up there, as mentioned in the earlier post. Interesting!!

From what I hear, the Elves hold a council in Rivendell and decide to help. I think it is Elrond who believes that the Elves' time is over, but I'm not sure. Only the movie will tell!

It was Elrond that thinks the elves time is over
quote:
Our time has passed,it is now the time of men

In the books Mirkwood forest and Lothlorien were both being assaulted by Dol Guldor so they wouldn't have been able to aid Rohan and Gondor

Since there's going to be a group of Elves just standing around Helm's Deep after the battle will they go with the Grey Company of Dunedain or will they replace it?
|
well i heard that the the Grey Company of Dunedain will be side stepped because they wont be in it.
