How Many Times Have You Seen The Movie?

So far I have seen it 4 times, it gets better with every viewing, and I've found that things that I didn't notice in previous viewings. Apart from a few scenes that were overdone, it was an awesome movie, and I plan to see it many more times.

QueenMag 12-28-2001 04:08 AM

I've seen it three times. I know I'll see it again in a week or so, and again after The Two Towers trailer starts being shown with it. Then that still leaves 11 more months till TTT comes out, so I'm sure I'll see it at least once or twice more before the DVD is released. It just begs to be seen on the big screen; my television is only 27 inches.

Imperica 12-28-2001 06:26 AM

I've seen it twice. Once with my friend and the other time with my Dad. The first time we were too close up to the screen so I decided to see it a second time in a good seat. I think I might take my girlfriend to see it also.

Airetelluma 12-28-2001 09:28 AM

I've seen it four times; number five on Sunday!

I enjoyed it much more the second time. No hype to cloud my judgement perhaps? Anyway, I upped my rating from 7 to 8 as you can see.
Wow! Four times in the theatre with plans to see it many more??? *does the math in her head* That's a lot of money! Do you think you can contribute to my tuition fund since you have so much extra?
-réd

Serevian The Ranger 12-28-2001 11:35 AM

so far none but i am going to watch it this weekend

Lush 12-28-2001 12:40 PM

I'm going for a third time tonight...I really don't have a life over the holidays, do I? I should be relaxing at home with the book and a glass of rum; it's too chilly outside! Instead, I will be going out tonight. I guess it's a combination of Legolas and the cinematography that does it for me.

I love the whole experience of going to and sitting in the cinema auditorium, being with the audience, being completely absorbed ....
Sorry; I am a working student myself; I have the money by skimping on other things for a while.

Galahira-may 12-28-2001 05:08 PM

i have seen it twice already (my mom and dad tease me and call me teh Lord of teh rings queen). I plan to see it more though. It holds my attention for the whole time....and a movie that does that has gotta be good.

Evil Anya 12-28-2001 05:13 PM

I've seen it twice, I will probably go atleast once more before it is out of the theatres but right now i don't have the funds.

The Barrow-Wight 12-29-2001 07:48 AM

I've seen it twice, once in English, my native language, and once in German, my second and very half-forgotten language. Fortunately, because I am so familiar with the books and had seen it in English first, I understood the movie in German perfectly.

Isildur 12-29-2001 08:57 AM

I saw the movie twice and it was really cool both times. I think the first time was better, cause the second time seemed to take a really long time and it was very late. I think it was one of my favorite movies of all. I will probably wait for the video and buy it. Yes, I still use VHS!
quote:

Elanor 12-29-2001 10:05 AM

So far just the once. But I will be going again in a couple of days, taking a friend who does not know the story at all. Hopefully I'll make a new convert

Tarlondeion Of Gondolin 12-29-2001 12:03 PM

I've seen it twice and I'm going again next week. Its a great film.

shieldmaiden 12-29-2001 02:42 PM

I havent seen it yet, but i plan to see it at least three times on the big screen. I want to take all my friends to see it and I hope that there will be some converting.
[ December 29, 2001: Message edited by: shieldmaiden ]

Pippin 12-29-2001 03:06 PM

I converted two already...I seen it four times so far...and if I can find enough cash down the back of my sofa, I might go again...

the Lockbearer 12-29-2001 04:33 PM

Only twice so far. My 10 yr old son is bugging me about seeing it again this holiday weekend and only this flu bug is keeping me from it.
Certainly enjoyed the film much better the second time and look forward to the third time to being that much more enjoyable.
Can't wait until it is released on DVD.

Lush 12-29-2001 05:11 PM

Oh yes. Having FotR on DVD means I can pause it at all the right moments...

Serevian The Ranger 12-29-2001 05:58 PM

one time it was pretty good i think it lived up to my expectations

Zippo 12-29-2001 06:11 PM

one.....only one....

Snowflake 12-30-2001 11:54 PM

I've seen it twice, soon to be three, times. It's hard to go to the movies a lot when you can't drive and only get $10 a week.......

Marileangorifurnimaluim 12-31-2001 03:19 AM

Three times so far, with plans to go again, later, before the second movie comes out. Much better the second time, just love looking around Bilbo's home (looks like my cozy place - stuff everywhere - I like it).
I can't wait to put my feet up and watch all three in a row.

Maltagaerion 01-01-2002 12:32 PM

Just twice so far, took my mom the second time. I think now she realises why I've loved these books all these years

Airetelluma 01-01-2002 01:52 PM

I've converted four people; they all got LotR for Christmas/already had it and all went running home to read. ^_^

Legolas 01-01-2002 11:44 PM

I've been four times, only getting in twice. Only one of the eight or so cinemas in town is showing it, and it's also the most popular cinema in town...but they only show it three times after 4:00. 'Tis okay though, I'm going tomorrow to see it again.

Lance 01-02-2002 11:54 PM

4 times for myself. Will hopefully see it many times before it leaves the theater.

Sindalómiel 01-04-2002 06:26 AM

I've seen it twice, and will be seeing it again as soon as I get some money.

lothlorien 01-04-2002 07:35 AM

Hello from Spain!!!
I´ve seen it twice and I cried both.I´ve only read "The Hobbit" and now I´m reading "The Silmarilion", but I felt completely in love with the movie and the characters on it. Surely I´ll see it again and again until it´ll be releaed on DVD.

Gilthalion 01-04-2002 07:57 AM

I'll have to buy a DVD player one day just to get the Director's Cut (another 45 minutes or so, according to rumor).
I've seen it thrice in the cinema, once by myself (opening day matinee), once with the Mrs (opening night), and once with a friend.
The Mrs tells me I must take her again and thus ENDURE it for a fourth time.
Somehow, I don't think I'll mind!

Baillie From Bree 01-05-2002 12:12 AM

Nine!

Lush 01-05-2002 02:30 PM

Dear, I have multiplied 195 minutes (the approximate length of the movie) by 9, and I got this number: 1755. I then divided that by 60 and got 29.25 (hours). That's more than a day!
...I myself may go see it a fourth time, if the withdrawal is too terrible.

Maeglin 01-05-2002 04:12 PM

I have seen it two times so far (once alone and once with my friends) and im seeing it again this week with my brother and my dad. When is that TTT trailer? I sure dont want to miss that.

Elrian 01-06-2002 03:05 AM

New Line hasn't made an announcement yet as to when they will switch the current film with the one including the trailer. If they expect the movie to run until March they may do it next month sometime, or when it starts to fall in the box office take.

Baillie From Bree 01-06-2002 06:06 PM

Think of it this way. When you're eleventy-one years old, what will you wish you had done more of?
View obsessively, my children.

zifnab 01-06-2002 06:23 PM

I have seen the movie only once, but would like to see it again, this time bring my wife. But if everybody watches the movie 3+ times as it seems the majority have(at least in here), then this movie will be rackin' in the big bucks.
I wonder what they'll do with all the left over money(If there is such a thing as that in Hollywood).

Lush 01-06-2002 09:49 PM

Well, they can go by themsevles at least to ice-cream cones with the "left-over money", because today I saw the movie for the fourth time. For my own weird reasons, of course.

QueenMag 01-07-2002 12:33 AM

I read in IMDb, that they would start running the TTT trailers with FotR after the Oscar nominations are announced.

Gayahithwen 01-07-2002 12:26 PM

I've only seen it once so far, but I plan seeing it again sometime soon.. this time I'll read through a "101 things you saw, think you saw or missed in the film"list that I found somewhere before and then watch out for everything and then laugh loudly when I see them.. hhmm.. I will not buy anything to drink this time, though.. three hours of pain last time.. ^_^ oh well, I survived..

amyrlis 01-07-2002 01:56 PM

Only once so far! Would like to catch it at least once more on the big screen though. Perhaps I'll wait till after the Oscars and see if QueenMag heard correctly - that would be great! It will have to come out on DVD before I get to see it as many times as I've read the book though!
