Still worried about the movies?

Here's something I thought up that might make you feel better:
AmME
Just close your eyes and repeat after me: It can't be as bad as that, it can't be as bad as that....
Telchar <---- *closing his eyes, going: It can't be as bad as that, it can't be as bad as that....*

I am worried. . .I'm hearing about strange cuts. . .I hope it doesn't turn into another Lost World. . .

From some picture's I've seen, it looks like they go to Lorien before Moria. I think this because I've seen photos of them with the grey Elvin cloaks that Galadriel gave them. It wasn't just Aragorn (as you can see in the picture here); I've seen these cloaks on some of the Hobbits as well.
I hope I'm mistaken.

C'mon it's impossible. Jackson is not as stupid as that...

quote:
Originally posted by Duncan_Idaho:
C'mon it's impossible. Jackson is not as stupid as that...

How do they get the grey Elf-cloaks? They have the leaf brooches like described in the book.
I'm hoping I'm wrong of course, I just saw these pics.

Are you sure that picture is of Moria? It could be just a dark forest or outcropping anywhere. Or maybe they get the elven cloaks at Rivendell instead. (Your one-stop shop for all things Elven and Westernesse...) Okay, that doesn't help much.

Treebeard 11-29-2001 08:59 PM

The site I got it from had it listed in the "Moria" section. The link to the image is MoriaAragorn I believe. I'm just going by what I saw.

Maybe in the Movie Elrond provides them. it does say in FotR that Elrond provides them with warm clothing. Could be a Rivendell leaf brooch on the cloack and not a Mallorn.

Moria WILL come before Lorien (if the tracks of the musical score are any indication..), so perhaps Elrond will provide the cloaks?... (does that make things any better tho?O_o I'd prefer to see Galadriel be the one who gives them..)

Where's the bow? Aragorn has a bow in Moria in every shot I've seen. He was even shooting some orcs with it on the clip from the Fox special. I think the most likely reason for this is someone on the website you got it from thought it looked like moria, but from what I see from this pic there is no indication of that. Could be just night time anywhere. The background's pretty blury.

Elrian 12-10-2001 01:38 AM

In the book Elrond provided warm clothing for their journey. That's where the cloaks and brooches come from.

Another Big Fat Spoiler from someone who saw the movie....
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.< BR>.
That picture is probably from the Amon Hen scenes - They all had their own different color cloaks before Lorien. After Lorien, they all inexplicably have matching cloaks & broaches - the movie doesn't show Galadriel giving the gifts out. They only show her giving the Vial to Frodo. I found that to be a little disconcerting, but oh-well. I think they actually shot the scene, so maybe it will be on the DVD.

Elrian 12-14-2001 11:36 PM

That's funny there was a picture of that online where they gave the gifts to other members.
