'Lord of the Rings' Props Draw Crowds
There's a Reuters report on an elaborate display of movie props in Canada bearing the above name. It can be found in Yahoo! in the Entertainment news section. Interesting article. I didn't know that Frodo undertook a dangerous journey to keep the Ring away from an evil wizard named Saruman. Have to read the book again... or maybe I'll just wait to see the movie.

I saw the article. Maybe they just got Sauron and Saruman somewhat confused.

It sounds pretty hard to mess up that much.
Burzdol

Actually, you'd be surprised. I know a LOT of people who get confused between Sauron and Saruman. Of course they all haven't read the books, or if they have, they've conveniently forgotten that one is a GIANT, FLAMING EYEBALL!!!!!

A typical movie viewer sees the movie once. A typical reader of the book likely read it once in their youth. A mistake like this is not strange.
H.C.

I believe things like this do happen. I was asked several days ago if the White Wizard was Sauron...I think they meant Saruman, but i suppose it was simply mixed up.
So it isn't suprising for me to see something like this...
[ May 31, 2003: Message edited by: Iargwath ]
