The only thing I know of is in TTT, The King of the Golden Hall, Aragorn says,"Here I set it, but I command you not to touch it, nor permit any other to lay hand on it. In this elvish sheath dwells the Blade that was Broken and has been made again. Telchar first wrought it in the deeps of time. Death shall come to any man that draws Elendil's sword save Elendil's heir".

Other than that I have never read why.

I'm not sure if that sounds like a curse or sounds like Aragorn will see retribution himself.

I believe that Aragorn means that if anyone were to touch his sword, he will be ****ed off and will kill them for touching his stuff
