Giggle
I think it would be funny if we made up personal ads for LOTR characters, like:
SWM, smoker, looking for a female who doesn't mind playing with fire. Have two sons, one off on a quest of some sort. Am "ruler" of an ages old city, and hope you don't mind towers. Who is it? |
Hmmmm... Is it Denethor???
|
Why, yes it is! Would you like to post one?
|
Can I do one?
Okay: SWM, son of an Elf mother and a Human father, wants to find a girl that wants to be the first mortal ruler of a certain people with him. Must have long life span and be able to put up with corrupt men, as many Numenoreans became such. If interested, call (555)178-5464 [(555)1ST-KING] OR, if you prefer: SW?(I don't know)M, evil god, desires a girl that does not mind spending all eternity in the Void with him. Must enjoy torture, slaughter, and evil offspring. If interested, call (555)426-3845 [(555)IAM-EVIL]. Heehee: I love coming up with phone numbers! http://www.plauder-smilies.de/devil/firedevil.gif http://www.plauder-smilies.de/devil/firedevil.gif http://www.plauder-smilies.de/devil/firedevil.gif |
Hmm, these are tricky.
For the second one, I'd have to say Sauron? And the first one? Oh gosh, I don't know! I'll try another one: SWM? looking for a demonic companion who enjoys long fights on a bridge, and attempting to kill wrinkly old wizards. fire a must, and wings are okay. If interested, call (555)468-5683 [(555)HOT-LOVE This one should be fairly easy, and Van, thanks for the phone # idea! |
Vanima - is the first one Elrond???
I'll come back and post one soon. |
Vanima, is that first one Aragorn? That's who it sounds like to me...
|
This is fantastic, unfortuneately it's going to take me days to think of one so I can join in. Hold on, I'll be back.
|
Hey guys, you don't have to wait until you've gotten one right to post! If you've got an ad, post it!
|
SADM, seeking everlasting companions to share roomy, richly adorned space. Enjoy endless nights of romantic encantations in a glowing environment. EWYB need not apply.
Figure out WHO I am and what the acronyms stand for! I dare ya! |
Golly gee whiz!! This one is really hard. Barrow-Wight, I have a question. Does your ad apply to a person or an object? I might have an idea, but I'm not really sure.
|
The ad is for a 'person'.
|
The one that seeks "companion on bridge" that Elenya spoke of was the Balrog I know...and the first one I did was Elros, Elrond's brother (close whoever said Elrond).
And the second I meant to be Morgoth/Melkor. Both are from The Silmarillion. |
I'm still puzzled by this, but does SADM stand for Single and Dead Male?
|
I think I've finally got one, it might be pants but here goes...
Fiesty young female, into horse riding, sword weilding and ambition. Seeks lord, king or governor type to sweep off feet when feeling under the weather. Non-heroic men need not apply. ...painfully obvious isn't it? Sorry, it's a start I guess. |
Auriel is yours Eowyn?
As for the Barrow's - I'd say either the Barrow-Wright or the Witch King of Angmar. But I can't figure out the acronyms. Sorry guys, I can't think of a singel one! |
Yup, I'm still stumped by the Barrow's.
|
Yes, it's Eowyn. That Barrows, I bet it's someone from the Sil.
|
Barrow-Wight that's hard!! >.< I'll have to think about that one. Urgh. But I have one for y'all!
SWF looking for eternal mate to share Forest with. Must be wise and able to handle responsibilities that come with title. No ring necessary. Love of peace & long-lasting solitude is required. Mmm..okay, that was a bit easy. Oh well! I tried! This is fun! |
Mine was Barrow-Wight, of course! wtg.
SADM = Single Armless (or Amputee) Dead Male ...you were so close! EWYB = Enigma with Yellow Boots. I admit that one was very cryptic. |
Thinhyandoiel, I think that yours is Galadriel. I'm not smart enough to think up a personal ad, so someone else can take my spot here.

Yeah, I think it's Galadriel too, It would make sense: Forest, title, you know.
|
SWF, enjoys spontaneous singing and sneaking off on life-threatening quests. ISO SWM who doesn't mind having his own life threatened by jealous relatives.

What do all the abbreviations stand for? I don't understand them, so working out the people and making up new ads is kinda hard
|
If you want to know what the abbreviations mean, open the back of any local paper. Most of them have a legend to go with the ads. Now...Why do I know this?
|
Thanks Lush, I'll get to work!
|
Lush, is your's Lùthien Tinùviel looking for a man like Beren??
|
Yep! Mine was Galadriel, looking for Celeborn. Darn, y'all are good! I'ma think of more. Hehe.
|
Hey Thin, where are you from in Canada, eh?
|
Edmonton, Alberta. Why?
Ooh! Here's one! (easy as heck) SWM. Attractive. 150/20 vision. Have been away for the last year on special secret mission down south. Looking for special someone to share new dominion near Minas Tirith. Must love the sea. |
Legloas?
|
Darn. Well, I said it was easy as heck didn't I? LoL! Yeah, it's Legolas...guess it kinda gave it away that his pic was right next to the ad, eh? LOL!
|
I was curious because I am a Canadian myself. Originally from Nova Scotia, soon to be New Brunswick. I've never been to Alberta, though I really want to see it, and the mall.
|
SW?F ISO SW?M who enjoys dark tunnels and webs. Hate of light a must.
|
That would be Shelob, yes?
I assume so. Hmmm... SWME (Single White Male Elf) searching for SWEM (Single White Elf Maiden). Must love dangerous horseback rides to save hobbits. Must not mind being left out of the movie no matter how unfair it is (that just gave it away)! |
Vanima, Your's is Glorfindel! How I missed seeing him in the movie.
Speaking of this, I had a dream that I was sitting down in the valley of Rivendell and I saw PJ there. Several of the Elves were asking him why he left Glorfy out. Weird, huh?? |
I guess PJ thought that the movie would be too long and complicated if he would add another character. Well, it is a movie, not a book - that's why I mostly prefer the latter one - and leaving out Glorfindel is nothing compared to ruining Faramir.
