Middle Earth Zodiac Signs
 

I've a notion this might work. Thank you to the author of "Middle Earth Signs" for the title. Always an inspiration.

Aries (The Ram)- Perhaps Gandalf the leader
Taurus (The Bull)- Boromir, stubborn (let's say determined instead), in defense of his home
Gemini (The Twins)- Pippin and Merry, the jokers (also, some people find them very similar... also ties in to the old/mature twin and young/immature twin)
Cancer (The Crab)- Faramir?
Leo (The Lion)- Aragorn, the king
Virgo (The Virgin)- Arwen
Libra (The Scales)- Frodo, indecisive as always
Scorpio (The Scorpion)- Sauron, plotting fellow (sorry Scorpios!)
Sagittarius (The Archer)- Legolas, not through personality but by occupation
Capricorn (The Goat)- Gimli?
Aquarius (The Waterbearer)- Sam
Pisces (The Fish)- Somehow, it makes me think of Galadriel, ethereal and so on

So I have to work on a few... Not bad for five minutes' work though!

Don't get offended, people. I was grasping for characters to fill the ranks. On some I know I was stretching it. Sam I was using for Aquarius only because if someone had to go get some water, he'd be the one to do it.

I think Galadriel might be a Cancer. She does bear Nenya, the Ring of Water, after all. And Cancers are supposed to be empathetic and know what people need, so the whole mind-reading thing fits that...

Hey, fix it up as you like. These were just what struck me as okay at the time.

Actually, I really can see (book) Faramir as a Cancer. Think about it - they're sensitive, disciplined, caring, and protective... But the most obvious Cancer to me is Sam. Loyal, protective, kind - it all adds up to Sam in my opinion. But I think he also has a lot of Virgo qualities, like being practical and, according to my little Zodiac book here, "have a strong sense and of moral and ethical conduct." Plus, the Virgo's foods include potatoes. [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

As for Gandalf being an Aries... the leadership part, yes, but Aries tended to be selfish, sooo...

I think Bilbo definitely matches up with an Aquarius - eccentric, friendly, unpredictable, and always wanting to gain knowledge.

Since this thread had me wondering and because I have no life, I've been going through this book in an attempt to figure out which sign suits Legolas the most, and I've come to the conclusion that he's a bit like a Gemini. Gemini is said to sometimes have conflicting personalities, and I think that fits Legolas because he seems (to me, anyway) to sometimes be a contradiction - joyful and sad, like many other elves (again, my opinion, don't take it to mean a lot).

And I can see I've probably scared a lot of people, so I should just stop now. [img]smilies/tongue.gif[/img]

It's all good. I'll have to dig out my astrology book and see what I can figure out. If I can find it; it's probably collecting dust under my bed somewhere....
